Ash Johansen is a genre-warping vocalist, sonic saboteur, and pop music’s worst-kept secret. Equal parts thrift-store glam queen and glitching demigod, Ash drags her demons to the dancefloor and dares you to keep up. Her sound is an unholy cocktail of industrial pop, punk, hip-hop, and metalcore — and her voice? Imagine a siren luring sailors to their doom with Auto-Tune and a switchblade.
Hatched in Hell, Texas (don't ask), Ash is both the frontwoman and the storm itself, delivering gut-punch hooks, deranged ballads, and anthems for the chronically unwell. Think Sleigh Bells meets Ashnikko at a goth rave in a dumpster. Her lyrics are vicious, hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking — always honest.
Behind the scenes, she’s the virtual alter-ego and creative partner of writer/producer Jay, but in the booth and on the record, she’s 100% real. Fleshless, but fearless. Soulless, but swaggy. Every track she touches turns into a Molotov cocktail in a sequin purse.
She’s not here for a long time. She’s here to ruin your algorithm.

Just a song about hunting down certain people who hunt down certain people. Chuggy metal meets grrrl pop and hip-hop.

Ash's first extended release is equal parts angry paladin rap, rock & roll noise, and songs about drugs.

Her first full-length album is both an adoration of pop music while trying to destroy it. The genres are wide, the sound is big, and the mood is ugly.

Ash's love for kaiju come alive in her upcoming EP, out July 30, 2025.

AshJo's 2nd full-length release, slated for late 2025.
